A green home for students studying green things (plants.)
The renovations at UCLA’s four-level, 37,351sf Botany Building included the building and an adjacent herbarium. The work consisted of removing all existing interior partitions and installing new MEP and life safety systems. It also included a new roof, entrance, accessibility upgrades, seismic upgrades, technical equipment upgrades and interior finishes. Additionally, the building houses wet and dry labs for research, classrooms, and related support spaces. Construction was guided by standards for buildings eligible for listing on the National and California Registers of historic places.
