Building Information Modeling (BIM)
At BNB, we use Building Information Modeling (BIM) to improve the way we deliver our projects. BIM is a tool that enables us to collaborate and communicate across the entire project team, including owners, architects, subcontractors, and laborers. It empowers our teams to make more informed decisions, and to develop a shared understanding about how a project will be built. We use BIM to validate the constructability of a proposed project, while preserving the design intent. By using BIM to coordinate various building components and systems, we are driving out inefficiencies in the construction process, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and on budget.
BNB has been applying BIM in our construction management practice for four years, and we earned a 2008 AIA National BIM Award for “Design/Delivery Process Innovation Using BIM.” To date, we have applied BIM to over $300,000,000 and over one million square feet of construction. As recognized leaders with BIM, BNB also represents the U.S. construction industry on the buildingSMARTalliance Permanent Board of Direction
Our success with BIM depends on both the dedication of our talented Project Engineers, and on our great relationships with owners and architects who are willing to work with us to leverage the tool for the benefit of the entire project.
