MUCKLESHOOT INDIAN TRIBE, K-12 CAMPUS

BNB built a new state-of-the-art K-12 campus for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe which includes three, two-story classroom buildings and one multi-purpose facility. The campus is comprised of classrooms for typical academics as well as specialized spaces for computer labs, art, life sciences, physical sciences, home economics, language, performing arts, cultural, gifted and special education programs, vocational shops, library / media, indoor gathering space, dining, physical education, and administration. The campus also includes multiple play areas, athletic fields, and bleachers.

PUYALLUP TRIBE OF INDIANS, ELDER’S CENTER

The new Elder Center is a 24,000 SF, two-story structure designed to include elements of Pacific Northwest Native American architecture. The facility provides basic services and activities for Tribal Elders. Administration areas accommodate office/conference/support functions as well as facility maintenance. A Health and Wellness Center features a fitness center and space for physical therapy, including a therapy pool and spa. Additional amenities throughout the facility include a commercial kitchen, banquet room, classrooms, arts/crafts room, and library.

PUYALLUP TRIBE OF INDIANS, COMMUNITY YOUTH MULTI-PURPOSE FACILITY

The new Community Youth Multi-Purpose Facility will be located adjacent to the Chief Leschi School on the Puyallup Indian Tribe’s campus and will accommodate a variety of Tribal events. The 32,200 SF facility will house a basketball court, running track, Great Room for events, offices, meeting rooms, reception area, full-sized commercial kitchen, youth center, exercise rooms, and a wellness center. Completion of this project is anticipated for October 2010.

MUCKLESHOOT INDIAN TRIBE, HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER

In April 2005, BNB completed construction of this 95,000 SF Health and Wellness Center on the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe’s 11.3-acre site. The $15.5 million Center encompasses medical, dental, counseling, and recreation facilities. The overall project included public entrances with lobbies and reception areas for each major use within the center. Additionally, administrative offices and conference facilities are located throughout. Other facilities which support the entire complex include medical and dental records rooms, a computer server room, storage facilities, a loading dock, and a full-service kitchen. Individual elements of the project include:
Medical - Urgent care and triage, examination rooms, a blood room, a laboratory, and an imaging center.
Dental - 12 dental examination areas, dental operating rooms, and dental imaging.
Counseling Center - Individual counseling offices, childcare facilities, and a demonstration and training kitchen.
Physical Therapy - Therapy pool, exercise room, weight room, aquatic facility with lap pool, locker rooms, a full-size gymnasium, and two racquetball courts.
Site elements on this project included water features, an amphitheater, and gardens. All telephone, cabling, natural gas, and electric utilities, as well as roadways, were extended approximately one-third mile to provide services and access to the Health and Wellness Center.
